At one stage many years ago, Girgarre Primary School had well over 100 students and was as it is now a vital part of the wider community. The town itself currently has a population of 500 people and is in the heartland of dairy country in northern Victoria. As you look in all directions you are pretty quick to realise the country is flat. The tallest peaks apart from trees and houses is the mounds of dirt on the edges of laser levelled paddocks which dominate the landscape along with the black and white cows the reside within them.
